We hope you enjoy this portion of our worship service from this past Lord's Day, featuring messages by elders Mike Rogers and Ben Winslett.

Continuing our journey from the empty tomb to Jesus' grand appearing before Apostles, we consider the journey of the two on the Road to Emmaus, followed by Jesus revealing Himself to the disciples.

Last week, we brought our special series on the crucifixion and resurrection to a close with a message on Christ’s suffering at Calvary and the various reactions by the witnesses of the crucifixion. We ended our message, appropriately so, with a visit to the empty tomb. In this message, Ben Winslett transitions into a new focus; specifically, the time period between the resurrection and ascension of Christ.

It’s always a privilege to preach about Christ any day. It’s always special to focus on the time of his death, burial, and resurrection and all that guarantees. But for me, it’s become very special to speak on aspects of this each year as we come to the point on the calendar, once again, at which Jesus was crucified. With that in view, over recent weeks we focused on some aspects of this. We considered His Appointed Time, His final evening with the disciples, and last week we saw how he experienced such mental anguish in the Garden of Gethsemane.

In this message, we first consider His sufferings before engaging in a thought exercise. If you were a witness to the crucifixion, which person would you be?

As we draw one week closer to Easter Sunday, we continue our series on the events immediately before, during, and after the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ. Today, we want to slow down a bit and join Jesus and three of His disciples in a very sad and dreadful moment in the Garden of Gethsemane.
