Walking by Faith

In 2 Corinthians 5, there is a short but powerful parenthetical statement which reads, “for we walk by faith, not by sight.” In today’s radio program, a follow-up from last week’s on the new birth, we consider first what faith is and then, what it means to walk by it.

Sadly, the reality of what faith is has been lost to many believers in our present day. Far beyond mere mental ascent, faith is actually Christ living in you (Gal 2:20)! This intimate personal knowledge of God (Heb 8) is sparked at the new birth, a knowledge Jesus described as eternal life itself (Jn 17).

Thoughts on the New Birth

In this week’s episode of Words of Grace, Pastor Winslett draws our attention to a fundamental but crucial subject in the word of God, the new birth. Also called quickening, regeneration, and translation, among other terms, this is the doctrine of salvation from death in sin to life in Christ. In today’s broadcast, we consider these various terms as well as the effects of the new birth in a person’s life.

And Such Were Some Of You

1 Corinthians 6 contains a rather alarming statement regarding the fact that sin separates us from God and renders us unable to inherit the Kingdom of God.  As sinners, that gives us pause and makes us tremble. However, the following statement is one of comfort, as we learn God washes, sanctifies, and justifies us. Join us to learn more!

Paul, the Pattern of Regeneration

In today’s episode of Words of Grace, we engage in a bit of “cage rattling.” How so? Simply put, if my theology cannot explain the actual conversion stories in the Bible, then something is likely awry in my thinking. Does my theology explain the Thief on the Cross? Or Cornelius? Do I insist upon requirements for salvation that people who are clearly saved did not meet? Does my view of regeneration – the new birth – mirror that of Saul of Tarsus? If not, more thinking and learning is needed.

Join us for this message on the radical and miraculous encounter a sinful man named Saul had with the Lord of Glory, Jesus Christ; a story some might consider an exceptional case, when in reality it sets the pattern for the very act of salvation.

We Believe in Regeneration

In today’s episode of Words of Grace, we continue our series on the Articles of Faith with an examination of our beliefs regarding the subject of the new birth; also called regeneration, quickening, translation, a spiritual resurrection, and an act of creation as well. If you’re a long time listener, you know how much we enjoy speaking on this topic. Why? You and I are walking miracles! We were dead in sin, but now are raised to life in Christ. We are born again. We are acts of Divine Creation as new creatures in Christ. It’s an awesome and amazing subject that personally applies to each and every person who is born again.

What is Faith?

Here is a great irony within Christianity. Faith is one of the most used words among believers, most referenced concepts in the scriptures, and one of the least understood subjects! In today’s radio program, Ben Winslett shares an abundance of scriptures to share a fundamental groundwork of this miracle in the heart we call “faith.”

Two Types of People

In this broadcast, Ben Winslett presents a stunning but biblical fact: There are but two types of people living in the world today, those regenerated and those yet unregenerate. Join us as we explore the cause of regeneration, the nature of both types of people, and the important implications from such in reality.
