Desensitized

Presently, because of active political agendas, our culture is focused on one specific form of sexuality which the Bible condemns:homosexuality. While we concur, it’s important to remember scripture condemns any and all sexuality outside of marriage as sinful! Sadly, many believers who reject homosexuality as sin are more than willing to turn a blind eye to depictions of fornication in popular media or even real life. This broadcast serves as a good reminder to pursue biblical morality in all areas, not just the hot button issues.

The Current Struggle

From indoctrination campaigns in television shows and movies to recent abortion bills, forces of light and darkness seem to be engaging in a sort of “tug of war” at present. This should come as no surprise, but what should be the response of the body of Christ to the current struggle? In short, more than ever, we need to return to the “Book of Acts” nature of the church.

The Role of the Ministry

In today’s broadcast, we share a portion of a recent message from Flint River Church on the role of the gospel ministry in the life of a child of God. Suffice it to say, God intends for His word to be preached, both publicly and privately, for very specific reasons. On one hand, we are to convert, comfort, and exhort His elect. On the other hand, our message stands as a testimony against ungodliness.

The Savour of Christ

As disciples manifest the knowledge of Christ to the culture around us, we become the “savor” (aroma or fragrance) of Christ to all men. However, depending on the spiritual condition of each individual, this is either perceived as a fragrance of life or a fragrance of death. Listen to learn more!

Praying Everywhere

To the Old Testament Israelite, the epicenter of prayer was the Temple of God in Jerusalem. But praise God, we can call upon His name anywhere we are and He hears our petitions. In this broadcast, we share part of a recent message from the Pulpit of Flint River, in which Ben Winslett commented on Paul’s exhortation that disciples everywhere lift their holy hands in prayer.

Becoming Sons of God

In the prologue to John’s gospel, the Apostle John wrote, “He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name…”  This passage is commonly used to teach “decision regeneration,” a doctrine which insists the new birth is the product of human volition. But is that John’s actual intended meaning? Listen to today’s broadcast to learn more.

Palm Sunday

This weekend, believers around the world commemorated what is known as Palm Sunday. Those of us who still use old fashioned, paper calendars to keep track of life events recognize the phrase as an annual occurrence. While most people are aware of the title, it would be reasonable to speculate that far fewer knew why the day was named as such. And yet even fewer likely understand the Biblical significance of its origin. Join us for this episode of Words of Grace, in which we consider the Triumphal Entry of Christ into Jerusalem, from which the name “Palm Sunday” is derived.

What Happens at the Second Coming?

The hope of every follower of Christ is Jesus’ return. We yearn for the day when all sorrows and sufferings shall cease. This brings up an interesting question: What does the Bible actually say about Jesus’ second coming? In today’s broadcast, we search the scriptures for explicit statements concerning the return of Christ.

The Lord is Not Slack

Peter wrote in 2 Peter 3:9, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

For believers in Sovereign Grace, this verse is usually one of the first prooftexts raised in opposition to concepts such as election or predestination. But does this verse really contradict the sovereignty of God in salvation? We insist, no it doesn’t. In fact, as we explore the context of Peter’s statement in this episode of Words of Grace, we see that rather than contradicting election, this text demands it!
