God’s Chosen Servant | Isaiah 42

This week on Words of Grace, we turn to Isaiah 42 for a stirring look at God’s Chosen Servant — a prophecy that reveals the mission and character of the Lord Jesus Christ. Unlike the conquering political figure many first-century Jews anticipated, Christ came in gentleness, mercy, and unwavering purpose. He didn’t clamor for attention or crush the weak. Instead, He upheld the bruised reed and rekindled the smoking flax, ministering hope to the broken. Though quiet in demeanor, He accomplished what no other could: full and final redemption for His people.

Join Pastor Ben Winslett as he unpacks this passage in light of its New Testament fulfillment and points us to the victorious, compassionate Savior who will not fail nor be discouraged. Continue reading “God’s Chosen Servant | Isaiah 42”

Blessed Are The Peacemakers

In this insightful episode of Words of Grace, Benjamin Winslett explores the profound meaning behind Matthew 5:9 — “Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.” What does it truly mean to be a peacemaker? Is it about enforcing peace through strength, or is there a deeper, more Christlike approach?

Ben discusses the distinction between peacekeepers and peacemakers, emphasizing the role of diplomacy and reconciliation. Drawing from Scripture, including Proverbs and the example of John the Baptist, he highlights how fostering peace mirrors the character of Christ, the ultimate peacemaker. This episode also reminds us that true peace is not mere capitulation; sometimes reconciliation requires addressing offenses.

As Christians, we are called to reflect our Savior, the Prince of Peace, in how we mediate and bring calm to a divided world. Join us as we examine this crucial Beatitude and the calling to reflect God’s nature through peacemaking.

We Believe in the Scriptures

In this broadcast, we expand on exactly what that means and how it applies to the church today. Listen to learn more!

The Only God

Recently, a popular Bible software company published a documentary asserting that Jehovah rules over a council of lesser deities. This view is beyond troubling, venturing squarely into the arena of actual heresy. In today’s broadcast, Ben Winslett challenges this view and properly applies the passages of scripture proponents of such twist, using the very teachings of Christ to set the record straight.
