Walking After Christ

In today’s episode of Words of Grace, based on 1 John 2:6, we explore what it truly means to abide in Christ and walk as He walked.

“He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.”

Drawing from passages in John, Galatians, Ephesians, and more, we discuss our connection to Christ in salvation, regeneration, and resurrection. We then consider the Parable of the True Vine in John 15, where we learn the practical lessons Jesus taught about abiding in Him, emphasizing the importance of close fellowship with Christ and the destruction that awaits when we wander from Him. Lastly, we take up John’s command to walk as Jesus walked, learning this by studying Jesus’ life—His prayer habits, devotion to Scripture, humility, graciousness, and willingness to suffer for God’s will. We are called to follow His example, especially in loving one another.

Three Lessons from the Upper Room Discourse

In today’s broadcast, we take a glance into the last sermon Jesus preached before going to the cross, a message we call the Upper Room Discourse. Our focus is three of the major points of the sermon: Peace despite the circumstance (let not your heart be troubled), The Holy Spirit (the Comforter being sent), and a new and great commandment (loving one another).
