The Divine Perspective of Repentance

On this episode of Words of Grace, we consider The Divine Perspective of Repentance from Luke chapter 15. Using the well-known parable of the Prodigal Son, this message looks beyond repentance as merely a human act and focuses instead on God’s response when His children return to Him.

Jesus’ parables of the lost sheep, the lost coin, and finally the lost son reveal a consistent truth: the value is placed by the owner, the recovery is initiated by the owner, and the rejoicing belongs to the owner. Whether repentance follows a dramatic fall, a “respectable” sin, or a slow spiritual drift, heaven responds with joy when sinners repent.

This broadcast reminds us that the Father’s house is still open, His mercy is real, and His grace is greater than our sin!

The Beauty in Repentance, Part 2

In Part 2 of The Beauty in Repentance on Words of Grace, Benjamin Winslett continues the discussion by examining how Scripture itself frames repentance, and how God responds when it occurs.

This episode looks at several biblical contexts in which repentance appears, including the role of godly sorrow and the goodness of God in leading His people to turn again toward Him. Rather than treating repentance as something to be doubted or feared, this message points listeners to a perspective shaped by grace and restoration.

The broadcast concludes by lifting our eyes to the heavenly view of repentance, where Jesus teaches that repentance is met not with suspicion, but with joy. If Part 1 challenged how repentance is often perceived, Part 2 completes the picture by showing why repentance is truly beautiful in the sight of God.
