The Blessing of Fatherhood

The Blessing of Fatherhood (Part 1)

In a culture that often diminishes the importance of fathers, the Bible presents fatherhood as one of God’s greatest blessings and highest callings. In this first message of a two-part study, we examine the biblical purpose of fatherhood and the vital role fathers play in reflecting the love, leadership, and grace of our Heavenly Father.

While no earthly father is perfect, Scripture points us to a pattern of humility, compassion, forgiveness, and faithful leadership within the home. Introducing the Virtuous Woman

What does the Bible mean when it speaks of the “virtuous woman” in Proverbs 31? Is this passage merely an unattainable ideal, or does it present a God-honoring pattern for biblical womanhood?

In the first message of this two-part series, we begin exploring the inspired portrait of the virtuous woman, considering the character, wisdom, and godliness that distinguish her life. We also examine how Scripture presents these qualities as a blessing not only within the home but also among the people of God.

Be Ye Holy

What does it really mean to “be holy”? Is holiness something we achieve through rule-keeping and personal effort, or does Scripture point us to something greater?

In this message, we examine the biblical call to holiness and discover that our standing before God is not based on our own righteousness but on the perfect righteousness of Jesus Christ. From that secure foundation, believers are exhorted to pursue lives that reflect His character, following the example of the One who is perfectly holy.

Join us as we consider the difference between positional and practical holiness, the purpose of God’s law, and why the pursuit of Christ is the true path to a holy life.

Crushing the Head of the Serpent

In this episode of Words of Grace, Pastor Benjamin Winslett takes us to Genesis 1–3 to consider the earliest proclamation of the gospel and God’s promise of redemption. From the goodness of creation, to the fall of our first parents, Scripture reveals Christ as the Seed of the Woman who would crush the serpent’s head.

Genesis 3:15, often called the protoevangelium or first gospel, points forward to the virgin birth, the incarnation of the Son of God, and Christ’s decisive victory over Satan. In the garden, we see God seeking the sinner, providing a covering through the shedding of blood, and preaching the gospel Himself – establishing the pattern of salvation by grace.

Grace ‘Tis a Charming Sound

In this week’s episode of Words of Grace, Benjamin Winslett brings a classic hymn title to life in his message, “Grace, ’Tis a Charming Sound.” Human nature tells us that we get what we deserve. But, Scripture paints a very different picture of how sinners are saved. From Romans 3 to Ephesians 2, Pastor Winslett explains that salvation cannot come by human effort. Instead, the undeniable message of the gospel is that we are saved by grace alone—unmerited favor from a sovereign God.

The Blessing of Family

In this episode of Words of Grace, we share Pastor Winslett’s message on The Blessing of Family. Drawing from Genesis, Ephesians, and the Psalms, this sermon reminds us that family is both a precious gift in this life and a glimpse of the greater, perfect family awaiting us in eternity with Christ.

Listen in as we reflect on the joys and struggles of family life, the deeper intent behind marriage, and the promise of our everlasting home with the Lord.

A Deeper Understanding of the 7th Commandment

In this weekend’s edition of Words of Grace, Pastor Ben Winslett continues our study through the Sermon on the Mount with a message titled “A Deeper Understanding of the 7th Commandment.” While many view the commandment against adultery in strictly physical terms, Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 5 reveals a far more convicting and heart-searching standard — one that exposes each of us as guilty and in need of grace.

In a culture confused about sexual ethics, this message boldly addresses what the Bible defines as sexual immorality, clearing away both modern confusion and pharisaical misapplications. From lustful thoughts to marital unfaithfulness, from the misuse of church discipline to the hope of redemption, Pastor Winslett offers biblical clarity, practical truth, and a strong reminder: our only hope of righteousness is through Jesus Christ.
